Dear Mr. Myers,

How are the Australian media spinning the hostage crisis in Sydney?

All the best,

Michael,

 > How are the Australian media spinning the hostage crisis in Sydney?

Sydney has been the preferred destination of immigrants to Australia for
the last 30 years. Many have never lived anywhere else in Australia, and
have little knowledge of rural areas or the Outback.

As a result, Sydney is very multiracial and congested and expensive, and
the social fabric is fragile.

Whilst the uneducated classes say, "why are we letting these people into
the country?", and "why was this man out of jail, on bail?", the elite
are concerned to distinguish moderate Moslems (MOST Muslims) from this
Jihadist, who is being portrayed as a "lone wolf".

A lot of people supported the "I'll Walk with you" hashtag in Twitter,
to signal that they would help shield Muslims on the street and in
public transport from discrimination, eg over head scarves.

I said that uneducated people oppose Moslem immigration; but I've
noticed this piece from Quadrant Online, a right-wing intellectual
magazine, saying the same:
http://quadrant.org.au/opinion/qed/2014/12/one-irritation-many/

9/11 is touted as the turning-point. Well, I happen to believe that 9/11
was an inside job, done by Mossad and its sayanim with the complicity of
Cheney and other traitors in the US Government.

That puts me at odds with most anti-immigration parties and politicians.

I don't deny that Jihadis have behaved in a barbaric way; but as Victor
Ostrovsky showed, Mossad has given them a helping hand, so that their
excesses mobilize public opinion against Islam. The whole point is to
turn the Jewish war against Islam into a Christian war against Islam -
i.e. to get us to fight their war.

Israel's genocide of the Palestinians, its proxy wars against the Moslem
world, and its plan to demolish the Dome of the Rock, have unhinged
Islam, triggering the fundamentalist response known as Intifada, Jihad etc.

The Culture War waged by the New Left - largely Jewish too, but a
different kind - has also wound the Moslems up. Gay Marriage has become
its symbol.

The best way to curtail terrorism would be (a) cut all aid to Israel (b)
stop donors from bribing politicians (i.e. buying Congress)  (c) have
the UN take over the Temple Mount, and (d) stop the Culture War.

The Balfour Declaration - a contract between Britain and Jewry -
guaranteed the safety of the native Palestinian population, and the
existing holy sites. Israel should be sued for breach of contract.

The Jihadis are Sunni Moslems; Shiites are not a problem to the West,
and I believe that the West should ally with the Shiite powers (Iran,
Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen) to beat Islamic State. This means breaking
the alliance with Saudi Arabia.

The Sydney gunman, Man Haron Monis, was a migrant from Iran. He was an
opponent of the Government of Iran, and was granted Refugee status in
Australia. He recently converted from Shiite to Sunni - that seems to be
a danger sign.

(3) Excessive Police Firepower in Sydney Siege - Peter Myers, December

The Lindt Cafe  is in the centre of Sydney City.

During the siege, some of the hostages escaped out of the cafe door.

For most of the time, Sydney police showed discretion and forebearance.
We were told that they were putting the safety of the hostages first.

But when they entered about 2am, they did so as a group of five or more,
with all guns blazing - and even threw grenades into the cafe.

Reports said that cafe manager, Tori Johnson, had tried to knock the gun
out of the gunman's hand. In the scuffle, Monis shot him, but about five
more hostages escaped out the door. Police entered soon after.

The woman killed, Katrina Dawson, could well have been shot by police
"crossfire".

There was only one gunman, and he probably did not have an automatic
weapon. He could have been overpowered with much less firepower, to the
greater safety of the hostages.

Instead of entering en masse, only two or three police should have
entered; but they should have been wearing full body armour - with metal
helmets covering the whole of their heads. They gunman would have fired
at them, but the armour would have saved them. They would have killed
him, with less chance of injury to the hostages.

Since 9/11, police seem to have embraced military tactics.

I was waiting for media discussions of the excessive police firepower;
but media outlets seemed to say, "wait for the Coroner's report". Well,
the Coroner will tell us whose bullet shot Katrina Dawson, but we don't
need his report to tell us that excessive firepower was used.
